In its hands-on learning laboratories, the Kohl Children’s Museum emphasizes the critical role of play in children’s development. Children will interact with a range of displays that promote curiosity, discovery, and their imaginations through the museum’s 17 permanent exhibits. All programming and displays are research-based and designed to inspire children to investigate educational and learning possibilities via curiosity and play.

 

Parents are invited to assist their children in engaging in educational activities as they play at any of the exhibits. Specially educated staff develop play experiences that adhere to the Illinois Learning Standards via the utilization of early childhood education techniques.

The Kohl Children’s Museum’s Highlights

The Kohl Children’s Museum features 17 permanent exhibitions geared for children up to the age of eight. Children who are artistic will love the self-guided Adventures in Art show. At the Pet Vet exhibit, animal enthusiasts may learn how to care for their favorite pets by caring for injured or sick animals back to good health.

 

Allow the music to guide your child around the Ravinia Festival’s music maker exhibit while he or she learns to create music. At the Play Cafe, children will learn how to accept meal orders, create sandwiches, and clean the café via interactive games.
